01Who we are
UK Business Experts Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is a private UK corporate advisory practice registered in England and Wales under company number 17359654. We act as the data controller for personal information collected through this website and in the course of advisory engagements.
Written enquiries relating to privacy should be addressed to our advisory team at hello@ukbusinessexperts.com.
02Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to advise you properly:
- Enquiry information — full name, business email, telephone or WhatsApp number, country of residence, the package or service of interest, and the context you provide about your business.
- Engagement information — company details, proposed structure, officer and shareholder particulars, correspondence and instructions.
- Identity and verification information — identity documents, proof of address and, where applicable, information on source of funds. See our AML and Identity Verification Policy.
- Newsletter information — email address and confirmation status where you have opted in.
- Technical information — IP address, device and browser information and pages visited, collected through strictly necessary cookies and, with consent, analytics.
03How we use your information
To respond to enquiries, prepare and conduct consultations, deliver the advisory services you instruct, complete filings and applications on your instructions, meet our legal and anti-money-laundering obligations, maintain accounting records, and — where you have subscribed — send occasional editorial insights.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use enquiry data for marketing without your explicit opt-in.
04Lawful basis under UK GDPR
- Contract — to take steps at your request before entering an engagement and to perform that engagement.
- Legal obligation — identity verification, record retention, accounting and reporting duties.
- Legitimate interests — operating and securing our website, maintaining client records and managing our practice, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — newsletter subscriptions and non-essential cookies, withdrawable at any time.
05Sharing information
We share information only where necessary: with Companies House and HMRC when acting on your instructions; with banks, payment providers and introduced professional advisers where you ask us to support an application; and with carefully selected service providers who host our systems, deliver email or process payments. All providers are bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms. We may also disclose information where required by law or regulation.
06International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that occurs we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, together with appropriate supplementary safeguards, so that your information continues to receive an equivalent standard of protection.
07Data retention
Enquiries that do not proceed to engagement are retained for up to 24 months. Client engagement records, including identity verification records, are retained for a minimum of five years from the end of the relationship, in line with UK anti-money-laundering requirements. Accounting records are retained for six years. Newsletter records are retained until you unsubscribe.
08Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your information; to rectification; to erasure; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. Requests should be sent to hello@ukbusinessexperts.com and will be answered within one month.
09Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site and, only with your consent, analytics cookies to understand how it is used. Full detail, including how to change your preferences at any time, is set out in our Cookie Policy.
10Security
Information is held on access-controlled systems with encryption in transit, restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis, and confidentiality obligations on everyone acting for the practice. No transmission over the internet is entirely secure, so please do not send sensitive documents by unsecured email without asking us for a secure route first.
11ICO registration and complaints
We maintain a registration with the Information Commissioner's Office as required for our processing activities. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information you may complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk, although we would appreciate the opportunity to resolve the matter first.
12Contact and changes
This notice may be updated to reflect changes in our practice or in law. The date at the top of this page records the last review. Questions may be sent to hello@ukbusinessexperts.com.
